Windows Terminal 1.15.200 and 1.14.196 have been made available for download

Microsoft has released a new version for the (Windows) Terminal. The stable version comes 1.14.1962 and 1.14.1963 as an update and in the preview the 1.15.2002 and 1.15.2003. If you are in the Windows 11 beta channel, you will receive 1.15 as a stable version.

This will be almost identical in the beta channel, only the experimental function of the text rendering engine is not included here. Furthermore, in 1.15 and 1.14 there is another known problemwhich can cause difficulty restoring the terminal window from a minimized state.

Changes in Windows Terminal 1.15.200

  • Windows Terminal no longer relies on a sidecar pack of MIDI instrument voices to play “In the Hall of the Mountain King” when an application requests it (i.e. DECPS support is now based on DirectSound!)
  • Enabling read-only mode for a window no longer causes a read-only dialog to appear each time you focus, defocus, move, highlight, or otherwise interact with the terminal inside it. We are sorry!
  • Space is no longer reserved for scrollbar markers when there is no scrollbar
  • Doskey aliases can now be bypassed by prepending a space, as has apparently been documented since 1651
  • We have enabled word wrap for more tooltips in the application
  • The “Quake™️ Mode” window no longer launches in full screen mode when full screen launch mode is selected
  • The “Debug Tip” now contains line breaks to make it easier to read

Changes in Windows Terminal 1.14.196

  • Putting a pane in read-only mode no longer causes a read-only dialog to appear each time you focus, unfocus, move, highlight, or otherwise interact with the terminal in it. We are sorry!
  • We have enabled word wrap for more tooltips in the application
  • The “Quake™️ Mode” window no longer launches in full screen mode when full screen launch mode is selected
  • The “Debug Tip” now contains line breaks to make it easier to read
