watchOS 9 beta 2 is finally out. Two weeks after the release of the first beta firmware for the Apple Watch, Apple has released a new developer build.
The new assembly received the number 20R5307h. Apple says it plans to release the first public beta in a few weeks so more testers can try out the new operating system before a public release later this fall. watchOS 9 is the biggest Apple Watch software update in years.
watchOS 9 no longer supports the Apple Watch Series 3 and has received an update to the old watch faces and 4 new ones. With watch faces updated, Apple has made them more convenient to use on larger displays. In addition, for the Apple Watch Series 7, the company has added QWERTY keyboard support for more languages and new QuickType technology.
This firmware also received a significant update to the Workout app with many new features for those who love to exercise. For runners there are new workout screensyou can now simply scroll through the Digital Crown to see the many metrics that are available while running:
- Activity Rings
- Heart rate zones
With watchOS 9, Apple has also improved the Sleep app. It now contains more sleep data. Plus, there’s a new Medications app to help you keep track of the pills and vitamins you take every day.
Along with watchOS 9 beta 2, Apple released iOS 16 beta 2, iPadOS 16 beta 2, macOS 13 Ventura beta 2, and tvOS 16 beta 2.
