Twitter user 3D-prints a mount that turns an iPhone into a Mac webcam

At WWDC 2022, Apple showed off a Mac mount that turns an iPhone into a webcam. The accessory will go on sale later this year, but it has already been 3D printed.

The accessory is slightly different from what Apple showed at the presentation. The iPhone is held in the White mount thanks to the MagSafe charger, which is inserted into a specially designated place for it.

The device also has small hooks for attaching to the Mac screen. White failed to create a generic device due to Apple’s use of different shapes in the Mac. The MacBook Pro has a flat screen case, the iMac Pro has a slight curve, and the 24-inch iMac uses a thick rectangular bezel, so one mount cannot be compatible with all computers. [The Verge]
