Bioware is recruiting for its next titles and mentions “the next Mass Effect, Dragon Age or Star Wars The Old Republic”. We know that new Mass Effect and Dragon Age are in development, but what about SWTOR?
Studio job postings can be relevant indicators of ongoing projects at the developers involved. Should we therefore see an index of this type in the latest recruitment offers from bioware ? Perhaps. On social networks, the Canadian developer indicates that he is looking for recruits who will work on “the next Mass Effect, Dragon Age or Star Wars The Old Republic “.
The wording is ambiguous. We know that Bioware has already planned the development of the next opus of its Mass Effect license (which currently responds to the code name The Next Mass Effect) and Dragon Age 4 is also in development.
But what about Star Wars The Old Republic? Could a new opus of the MMORPG also be in development? Bioware does not answer clearly but nevertheless recruits a director in charge of level design, a level designer, as well as a designer specialized in raids. All three positions assume that you have online gaming experience and are familiar with “current trends in MMORPGs”. Whether it’s a new opus or the next updates of the narrative MMORPG, the Star Wars The Old Republic license does not seem to be completely forgotten by Bioware.
