Space action RPG with procedurally generated open world

from Jonathan Harsh
Star Valor is an interesting SciFi role-playing game in which an entire galaxy has to be explored. Many factions await in the vastness of space, which can become either allies or enemies.

Summers are getting hotter and drier, and the only way out for humanity may eventually become space. And then? The humans are almost wiped out by an alien species and all survivors are enslaved. At least that’s how the potential Steam hit Star Valor draws the future. In the action RPG, players take control of a spaceship and can explore a vast, procedurally generated galaxy. In the open world, it is important to mine asteroids, to trade, to manufacture weapons and of course there are also a number of battles waiting for all adventurers.

This is how Star Valor plays

Every beginning is small. But little by little, players build up a network of allies who complete a variety of missions together with them. Obstacles await many in space, from hostile aliens to other aspiring adventurers to the vastness of space itself. But with enough perseverance and skill, players can make it “from nobody to the biggest name in the galaxy”. Here are some of the interesting features of Star Valor:

  • Dynamic, easy-to-learn combat system
  • Crafting your own weapons
  • Over 140 different items to equip
  • More than 60 different spaceships
  • Level system with skill tree
  • The spaceship can be upgraded and a crew can be hired
  • Procedural action and task system
  • Arena mode for a combat-oriented challenge

There are seven factions in Star Valor to team up with or fight with. The various factions also attack each other, and it’s important to choose carefully which factions to join, or whether to remain independent and make your own friends and foes along the way. In addition, it is up to you whether you side with the law and collect bounties or become a space pirate yourself. Star Valor costs 20.99 euros on Steam and has very good ratings.
