The British studio is responsible, among other things, for the live service of “Call of Duty: Vanguard”.
The developer behind “Call of Duty: Vanguard” has opened another studio. Sledgehammer Games now has a location in Guildford, UK. Liz Wyle, who used to be the head of product development at PlayStation, will take over the management.
The US developer studio has now established its fourth branch. The headquarters are in Foster City, a planned city near San Francisco. Other locations are Melbourne and Toronto. While the Melbourne studio was founded two years ago, the Canadian studio only opened its doors a few months ago.
At the opening, she explains why the development studio chose Guildford as their location: “Guildford has a long history in video game development, and accordingly there is a lot of high-profile talent and an existing developer community there and in the surrounding cities. We are also easy to get to from London, where there is a huge talent pool. “
The Chief Operating Officer named Andy Wilson also shared a few words. He describes the opening as the next opportunity to fuel the growth of the video game industry. As Liz Wyle said, Guildford is a great place to do this thanks to the many talented developers in the area. In order to promote the talents, cooperations are concluded with schools and universities. Not only active developers should be supported, but also beginners.
Live service for Vanguard and future projects

There is also talk of future projects that should come onto the market in the coming years. Activision is obviously trying to expand its in-house development studios. Just a few days ago we reported that Infinity Ward now owns a studio in Texas.
