Hyperkin creates an Xbox Duke controller as a tribute to Obi-Wan Kenobi (TV series) | Xbox One

Hyperkin is a company known for creating console hardware (controllers, HD cables, etc.) of all generations. Known for having marketed an updated version of the famous controller of the first Xbox, the so-called “Duke” model, the American company is hitting hard with a prototype variant that should appeal to aficionados from Star Wars.

Her name is LO-LA59

Today is Wednesday. And who says Wednesday, says Obi-Wan Kenobi! The latest TV series from the Star Wars universe broadcast the end of its first season today. And if you have followed it diligently, you could not have missed the new endearing little droid of the saga: LO-LA59 or Lola, for short.

As is often the case in works directly or indirectly related to the Star Wars saga, droids hold a considerable place alongside human characters. It’s no coincidence that the duo C3P0 and R2-D2 have been able to cross the ages, as the story would not be the same without their presence. This is what the engineers at Hyperkin must have thought after watching the Obi-Wan Kenobi series from Disney+.

As the Duke controller made its big comeback in 2021, to celebrate Xbox’s 20th anniversary, Hyperkin shared the concept of a new model, in the colors of the little droid from the TV series. LO-LA59 therefore had the right to its own controller, due to “a striking resemblance” to the original Xbox controller!

At this time, Hyperkin does not specify whether this model will ever be released. Responding to a tweeter, the company said you had to “ask Star Wars” to hope to get it. The official Xbox account has been there for its response, which could mean that a door would be opened. Failing that, you can catch up on the limited-edition Cortana or 20-year anniversary models, available at the dedicated page from the online store, or get started in the series!
