Google’s subsidiary in Russia OOO Google has filed for bankruptcy. It is reported by RBC with reference to the relevant document.
The notice on the federal resource of legally significant information states that from March 22 of this year, the company foresees its own bankruptcy and the impossibility of fulfilling monetary obligations.
The press service of Google confirmed that the Russian “daughter” plans to declare itself bankrupt. When exactly the procedure will be completed is not specified.
The reason for this was the fine of Roskomnadzor. Last year, the department imposed a turnover fine on Google, which turned out to be the largest for the company – over 7.2 billion rubles. Even then, experts said that the company had two options for the development of events – to comply with the requirements of the ILV and remove information that violates Russian law, or else to leave the Russian market.
