Tomorrow the update function will start the Firefox update to version 94.0 or 91.3.0 ESR. The 78 ESR will no longer be continued. There was the last update for this at the beginning of October.
The beta will then receive the Firefox 96 and the Nightly the Firefox 96. A changelog then follows. We will of course add these here. So far known from the beta:
- Firefox on macOS now uses Apple’s energy-saving mode for full-screen videos on Youtube and Twitch. This significantly extends the battery life during long video sessions.
- Firefox now offers a new page about: unloads where users can manually unload tabs without closing them to free up system resources.
- Some changes for the developers come too.
