Apple Music ready to debut on PlayStation 5?

It looks like Apple Music is in the process of competing with Spotify on PlayStation 5. Some users already see the option to download the app when setting up a new user account on Sony’s latest console.

Apple and Sony recently teamed up to offer PlayStation 5 owners six months of Apple TV + for free, hence the arrival of the app Apple Music it wouldn’t be entirely unexpected. However, it appears the app isn’t ready yet, as confirmed by a user on Reddit.

I created a new account on my PS5 and was about to connect my Spotify, but then I saw this (refer to the image above).

However, when he attempted to download the Apple Music app, an error appeared saying that “the app is only playable on PS4”. This is the standard message a PS5 shows when a certain title is not available.

Eurogamer he added that he was able to verify that Apple Music it also appears as a streaming option when setting up a new user account on PlayStation 5. It only appeared when setting up the US region, but was still not available for download.

In short, all the clues seem to indicate that Sony is preparing to launch the Apple Music app on the PlayStation 5 soon. It is currently unclear what the app will look like or where it might be available when it goes live. Apple Music is already available on Apple TV and other set-top boxes, as well as on smart TVs. The PS5 app is likely to share the same interface.
