A fan imagines a remake of the first opus on the Unreal Engine 5, and it’s superb

The wait until God of War Ragnarok is long, and just to be patient, fans of the series are busy as they can. If shameless studios have fun copying the model of good old Kratos to place it in a game without any interest, others, more talented, are doing small wonders with the license. Like the people behind the YouTube channel TeaserPlaywho began to imagine what a remake of the very first could look like god of war on the Unreal Engine 5.

Zeus and Kratos get a makeover

The Epic Games engine allows for all the craziness, and we can see it again here. The people behind the project used all the tools made available by the Unreal Engine 5 to create striking sets (especially thanks to nice lighting and ray-tracing effects), as well as trying to see what could look like Kratos in such a remake, just like Zeus. We also see that the camera has been placed behind the shoulder, to better match recent episodes.

There’s no real game behind it obviously, but it’s still fun to watch. We recall that God of War Ragnarokwhich is very real meanwhile, will be released on November 9 on PS4 and PS5.
